I have been so behind that I don't know where to start. I have given up on getting my new studio ready, so I will bite my tongue a little longer and get busy doing what I love to do..... I am the worlds worst procrastinator ever!

How neat are these "Ghost Dresses"?

Materials
Clean plastic gallon milk jugs
Black permanent marker
Craft knife
String of 50 clear low-wattage holiday lights
Instructions

Draw ghost eyes and mouths on the jugs. Tip: Leave the caps on while you do this, so the jugs don't dent.
Use the craft knife to cut a half-dollar-size hole in the back of each jug (a parent's job).
Arrange the ghosts near each other and string the lights between them, stuffing several bulbs into each of the jugs.

I know it's been a while since my last blog and I can so tell how it's effected my thinking..LOL

Well, to start with I have been trying to stay busy and get ONE project done at a time and that has been like pulling teeth lately. I did manage to finish my High Chair Project,

and to my surprise, as I was taking pics of it I noticed the dog liked it way more than I did. UGH! She chewed on the bottom for the chair. No biggy though. Nothing sand paper can't fix....right?

Anyhoo, this past week we also had a mother nature attack in my area and destroyed my temporary paint studio, which consisted of a pop up tent connected to my cookout building. It was not fancy that's for sure but it was perfect for me at the moment. Well needless to say it is HISTORY!

I mean the wind took care of that situation in a heart beat. On a good note I see a upgrade coming soon....YEPPPEEE!

Make Your Own Chalk Paint...

I haven't tried this but will soon.....but still wanted to share

Material:

3 teaspoons acrylic paint [colour of choice]
1 1/2 teaspoons glazing medium [water based]
1/2 teaspoon powder tile grout [Not Sanded]

How to:

The single most frequently asked question is where can I buy coloured chalk board paint? Unfortunately, this product was
discontinued a few years back and I have not been able to find another... so with a little effort, I managed to put together a
recipe that works! Now you can make your own chalk board paint in any colour you choose and don't have to settle for the
standard black and green.

Mix together all of the ingredients listed above, blend really well and that's it. You now have chalkboard paint! You should only
mix as much as you will need for your project. It doesn't keep well, but can be stored in an air tight container for a few hours.
After a longer period of time, the paint will begin to thicken a little and become a bit brittle.

Helpful Hints:
Apply your paint with a regular paint brush and allow each coat of paint to dry completely, before applying the next. After each
coat of paint, gently sand the paint with a 400 grit or higher grit sandpaper and wipe away any dust. This will help keep your
painted surface nice and smooth.

You also need to condition your chalkboard, once you have finished painting. Be sure your paint is completely dry. Place a
piece of chalk on the side and rub over the entire chalkboard surface, covering the entire area with chalk. Using a felt cloth,
wipe off the chalk you just applied. With a slightly damp cloth, wipe the chalkboard clean.

Now your chalkboard is ready!

The most frequently asked questions are...

How do I make larger quantities of this paint?

I am sorry to say that I have not ever made larger quantities, as I use this paint for small projects only. It is important that you
be aware that tile grout hardens quickly and when mixing with paint, the time span will be longer, before the paint begins to
thicken and harden, but it will eventually harden! However, when mixing larger quantities [such as a litre], I would suggest that
you mix 1 part glaze to 2 parts paint [as is the small quantity recipe], but reduce the grout significantly. A few heaping
tablespoons of grout will most likely suffice. I suggest that you test this first, but I have heard back from others that have tried
this method with great success. It's important that you note... you do this at your own risk. I have not tested this recipe to be
used in larger quantities!

What is glazing medium?

This is a faux finishing medium available at craft shops in small quantities and larger quantities at paint shops, Home Depot,
Wal-Mart and similar retail stores. Most major paint manufacturers carry their own brand of this product and it is readily
available. Here are 2 brand name versions of this product, but there are many more

Behr: Premium Plus With Style® Faux Glaze No. 748
Benjamin Moore: Studio Finishes® Latex Glaze 405

Please be sure to note that this recipe calls for a water based glazing medium and not an oil base. This is important! You can
not ever mix water base and oil base products together. Water and oil, simply do not mix!

Halloween is almost here. This is one of my favorite holidays and seasons. It's the time children get together along with the adults and throw a big Halloween Bash and help celebrate the change of the seasons. Candy, cold weather, bomb fires, hay rides and naked trees (as my daughter use to call them) is what it's all about.

Me getting older has made me realize why the older folk use to love this season, in my case HOTFLASHES...lol When I was younger I never wanted the summer to end but boy howdie, I can only wish for cooler weather now.

How to make your Own "Grab My Button"

First thing to do is find you a picture or if you already have a loge that's fine too. Make sure you download it in a program like photobucket so you will have a URL code for the image. Or if you want to use a pic from the web, then all you have to do is right click on the photo and click on property and copy the URL code of that pic.

Next step
This is the code you will use to post on your blog.
Here is an example

don't get scared, all you do is replace the high lighted section with your info. Make sure you stay between the quotations.

Next step involves the use of Photobucket, if you don’t have a Photobucket account, go get one, and upload your image now. Once you have uploaded your image click on it, select the "direct link" option. replace the high lighted section with your image code. remember to stay in the quotations.

and that's all folks, you now have a "Grab Button" to place on your blog and for others to use on theirs.

This is one of my favorites so far today. This chair was beat up and the slats in the seat section were missing but, you know me I kept the slats too...hehehe anyhoo I painted the chair a pretty agua color, put a plant in it and here ya go...now something that would have been thrown in the trash is now sitting pretty in a section off my yard. Her name is "Willie Mae" after my grandmother that I so dearly miss. Hope you enjoy.

The Pink Flamingo goes way back and has been on many lawns all over the world. The pink flamingo lawn ornament was invented in the same decade that polyester pants, pink washing machines, vinyl wallpaper and Naugahyde lounge chairs were cool.
Don Featherstone is the creator of this Pink Plastic Bird so, thanks to him for giving me a BEAUTIFUL decor, that I absolutly love!

There is nothing UGLY about a Pink
Flamingo. She is long, slender and PINK, loves her mate and offsprings. Even to the point she has her own calling technique to call her young, before they are even born her babies know who she is...

This is why I pick the name "The Pink Flamingo" to call my blog and business. I see nothing wrong with anyone, anything and there is no JUNK that can't be transformed into something beautiful...EVERYTHING has a purpose.

Lady Gaga says it best in her song, Born This Way... I believe and live by that everyday.
